I'm an avid collector of early 20th century American photographs. I love design and I collect lots of other things as well (Panton, Aarnio, Colombo). Anyway, my area of interest is primarily the 1940s-1960s. I have a MASSIVE vintage clothing and accessory collection as well. (I consider myself an expert on vintage furniture and clothes.). So that era is my passion and expertise, and perhaps also affects my view on the matter. But I certainly stand by what I said. I suppose it's just a matter of my own personal style and taste.

I apologize if I posted from the ether(in response only to something I thought about from your comment, not something that you actually implied or explicitly stated)
And of course, we all have biases. For instance, I actually would prefer it if starlets were 10-30 lbs heavier than most of them are. Look at a Courtney Cox, she used to be beautiful but her constantly decreasing weight has rendered her skeletal. The same goes for her co-star, Aniston. I also tend to prefer raven-haired beauties with dark brown/black eyes of the Mediterranean, Latina or Asian variety(or a mix thereof) Now that's me, there are others who prefer thickly-built blondes. More power to 'em. lol
So I might agree with you on certain aspects of eras gone-by, but I'm glad that there's more of a feast for the eyes.
