EXCELLENT POST! Thanks for posting it.
Nowadays, he questions the sentiments of the many Europeans opposed to the U.S.-led invasion in Iraq that broke Saddam Hussein's rule.
"I did not see those protests when he was gassing 5,000 or more Kurds or Shiites to death," Edelman said. "No war is a good thing, but sometimes wars are necessary."
He makes a great point!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately we are losing those who can recognize that evil through their own experience. Good to see this man speaking out.

The war is not about oil, it's about defending man's freedom,"He gets it. Many have, but may we all "get it".

Thanks for this post. It isn't okay to tolerate the Saddams of this world for any reason. President Bush has shown us that is true. It will always be in our own 'best interests' to rid nations of brutal tyrants.

Great and moving post. It should be read by America's high school students.

During the Balkan wars of the 1990s, he urged NATO to send ground troops to Kosovo against the threat of a new European genocide, this time against ethnic Albanians. The whole thing sounded intelligent and righteous until I got to that....

There also seems to be at least one more inherent contradiction at work here: an eighty-two-year old cardiologist who smokes!

Think how many millions of lives might have been saved if the spirit of resistance had been present from the very beginning. To passively accept the tyrant's boot is to accept destruction.
Thank God the people of Israel understand that now--and not only know it but walk it.

And Schroeder said again yesterday that we could have done all this with "Inspections" for weapons. But were they going to do anything about the innocents in prison? Were they going to do anything about Husseins' guilt and evil? Were they going to just look for weapons and leave Hussein in power and children in prison? Bush said all along this is just about WMD, it is also about REGIME CHANGE. He was VERY clear about that point. Germany should have learned a lesson in WWII.
