It doesn't trump liberty. Bush may find that out if he signs the so-called "Assault" Weapons ban. Bush will lose more votes from "Soccer Moms" if he vetoes the ban than he will lose from gun owners if he signs it. It is a lose/lose situation for Bush
Best that the bill never sees his desk (which is what I am sure Bush is hoping for).
Any Million Mom March soccer mom isn't going to vote for Bush in any case.
His dad bent over for the anti-gun/pro-tax crowd and he had no second term.
