"Among the liberated captives were 50,000 Jews held in Babylon for three generations whose return toward the rebuilding of their temple in Palestine,"

Revisionist History Warning: They returned to ISRAEL.

"Palestine" is a term applied by the Romans, [as an insult; a form of the word "philistine"], after the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD, and the proclamation that ISRAEL and JUDEA would no longer be recognised.

I also take exception to the term Messiah ever applying to Cyrus or any other Persian, which, for me, pretty much negates the validity of anything else this Zoarasterist has to say.

Cyrus is referred to a Messiah because of his Liberation of the Jews and other great things he did in the world.

Read the scripture you might actually learn something besides the burning cross, the hood, and racist euphoria against Jews and all other Middle Easterns.

'Messiah' or 'Lord' was applied here as a term of respect to a benevolent leader. 'My Lord' is also a very common term in British history; even to this day. And I do not believe it is used to denote a HOLY character. Do you?

Every religion has a Messiah. In some, even your ignorant ass would be considered a messiah.

SCWard: your remark regarding the incorrect use of "Palestine" is exactly right.

I Do not see any reason for you, or anyone else, to take offense at the use of "Messiah:" please se #13.
