A.) Bob Costas ought to stick to baseball analyses and believing his own overrated hype.

B.) Costas has been outted as a Democrat and Hollywood sympathizer.

C.) The Hall of Fame made the right decision.

It's not like he was in the closet about it. I remember he was a big Dukakis supporter during the 1988 campaign.

Sports is infected with leftism...must be a Disney residue...look at how Martha Burk had her saggy butt kissed by Dick Schaap's son and ESPN and Costas. "Oh, don't diminish the importance of the justice of Martha Burk's quest for women's equality even though the turnout was small, blah blah blah..."

I wonder how these sportscasters make the decision to lose their balls...Cosell would tell Burk and most likely Robbins to jump in a vat of acid.

Bob Costas is a woman. Roberta Costas.

Costas wears Martha Burke's skirt. He outed himself on Augusta on Leno the other night.

Pathetic.

When people speak out for the cause of an enemy our troops are facing, they endager the lives of our troops. Free speech is fine, but it should stay off world wide television broadcasts during war.

Costas started off so well 25 years ago and then morphed into the phoney he is today. He has had a number of laser surgeries on his face (especially eyes) in an effort to try to continue his boyish, Michael J. Fox charm.

I have agreed with him on a number of baseball issues in the past, but have become increasingly dismayed by the shrillness of his positions in recent years. His position on the Hall Call with respect to Robbins and Sarandon is plain stupid. He did not need to weigh in on the issue, and by doing so, revealed himself.

Bill Huber, in his letter to the New York Times on April 13, got it exactly right:

Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins have used their celebrity to protest against the administration and the war at every opportunity. In doing so, they became, by choice, symbols.

Honoring them is as much a political statement as disinviting them.

Freedom of speech is not consequence-free. It allows people — and organizations — to answer back.

Give it up, Bob. You only diminish yourself when you shill for your leftist masters.

I happen to agree with the Hall of Fame's decision, but I also happen to respect Costas' opinion. I saw the interview with O'Reilly (who is also on record as disagreeing with the decision to cancel Robbins' appearance). He had his reasons, well thought out reasons, and although I disagree with him........I can certainly understand his points.

Costas should have kept his mouth shut.

And we care what Costas, Robbins & Sarandon think because?

The whole thing is way over-blown. Field of Dreams was a much more appropriate baseball movie, and a better movie overall. And, the rating allowed the whole family to see it, rather than just the adults. Isn't baseball a family sport?

On the other hand, it's good to realize that we have time to worry about something as trivial as this, instead of body counts. GBA.

Again, where was Costas when John Rocker and Marge Schott were on the receiving end of this type of treatment? Did he defend their right to make stupid comments and expect baseball to all Rocker and Schott to alienate its customers?

I can just picture Tim and Susan, had they been asked not to get into anything political: they would have gone out of their way to be political.

Also, their followers would have probably descended onto the event to raise a ruckus in order to get themselves on the news.

Well Bob C has joined the ranks of my NOT TO WATCH under any circumstances list. Not many people left to add. I am glad I am an Internet and talk radio junkie.

Bottom line? Bull Durham was a movie, in other words pure fiction. Tim Robbins is not now, nor has he ever been, a MLB baseball player. That fact alone is enough to disqualify him from speaking at the Hall of Fame.

MLB is real. The MLB president has an obligation to protect MLB from anyone who might tarnish the image of MLB. He did just that.

Robbins should shut his pie hole. He has absolutely no right to speak to an MLB gathering without the authority of the MLB brass. The brass said no, and for good reason.

Who is this Bob Costas? I saw BO tonight and while the name is vaguely familiar, the face wasn't.

Should I care, or continue to be the Hans Blix of [recent] sports knowledge?

Okay, I admit it. That early 90s baseball strike killed off most spectator sports for me.

And sports talk shows having porn stars pick the winners of football games doesn't help, either.

A 15-year anniversary bash - for a movie? Please.

Let's see if it's remembered after 300 years. THEN have a celebration...
