Your "my way or the highway" attitude is getting a little boring. Nobody is going to take your guns or mine as long as we use them in a reasonable, responsible way. Ashcroft, either at the direction of or with pormission, wrote a stronger defense of your right to own firearms than any governmental figure on record. None of that seems to be enough for you.

C'mon. Do you really believe that? I was going to post about 25-30 quotes from govt officials that want a total ban, but I'll just say - look at Illinois right now.

Your Ashcroft comment made me think about Manetta. Who in the Bush administration pushed to get guns into cockpits? We are finally getting pilots trained to carry weapons in the cockpit, 18 months after 911.

No, John Ashcrofts comments were NOT enough. It won't be enough until our freedoms are restored.

Quite a few republican's have lost my vote because of their stance on firearms. If GW continues to support the AW ban, he won't get my vote. It's that simple. I'll not only not vote for him, I'll encourage everyone I know to vote against him.

While he has done some good things, he hasn't passed the test on our rights. CFR, the Patriot Act, and other legislation have really concerned me. The line is gun control. If he supports it, he loses my vote. I will not compromise on this issue.
