I heard about Peterson's arrest on my local news station on the 5-5:30 CST pre-national news program.

However, there's a long row to hoe between an arrest and a conviction. Because this is a case out of California, I'd expect that there'll be at least a year, maybe two, before Peterson gets to trial--and who knows how long the trial is going to last.

I just hope they set bail nosebleed high and that he can't make bail.

I felt like Laci was one of my own, and I just could not rest as long as I knew that Scott was on the loose, and no matter if it takes a long time to try him, I feel better now. The moment that I read that Scott had told Laci that he had a mistress, I felt so sure in my heart that he had killed her, due to her likely response. I knew he was lying when he said that Laci was okay with it, and it would not break up their marriage. Scott's philandering has cost Laci her life, and I doubt that she would have accepted it. Laci and baby deserved better.

Not necessarily a long wait for this high-profile case to come to trial. Westerfield, who lived in San Diego, was tried in a hurry...I suspect the prosecutors are stamping their feet to get this case to court -- and get their names in the papers, for that matter.
