In a statement to the press, Jackie Peterson has said that members of the media and the Modesto Police Department, as well as may frequent posters to a lunatic-fringe website called "Free Republic," have been taken their own lives in a desperate attempt to frame her son for murder!
"They are committing suicide by the hundreds on my front porch!" stated Ms. Peterson. She also noted that, "Those who have not killed themselves are simply told to wait in the living room."
