You forgot something, though. Scott is a white, straight, protestant (I think), ambulatory male under 40 years of age--this is the only demographic that is not a "protected class" in the USA. Unless he suddenly becomes gay, homeless or somehow impaired (deaf, blind, etc.), I'd say he's ESPECIALLY screwed in California courts.
