'I Feel Like I'm Living In Nazi Germany'
SAN DIEGO -- The parents of accused killer Scott Peterson vigorously defended their son Sunday.
Speaking out in front of their Solana Beach home, the obviously distraught Lee and Jackie Peterson made an extended statement. Scott was arrested Friday outside the Torrey Pines golf course in connection with the slaying of his eight-months-pregnant wife, Laci, who vanished in December of last year.
"Our son is innocent," said Lee, Scott's father. "We know that. We've known that from Day 1."
The Petersons began their statement with an expression of mourning.
"We want to say that we are grieving for our daughter-in-law and the baby," said Lee. "Our family is just devastated, and we feel an equal amount of pain for the Rocha family."
Rocha was Laci Peterson's maiden name. Jackie said that she thought that the Rocha family had been misled.
"They know it, too," Jackie said, referring to her son's innocence. "They supported him fully till the police misled them. And that was to divide and separate them from him. He was their support. They were his support."
The Petersons took issue with the Modesto, Calif., Police Department and its handling of the case.
"We are very critical of the way the Modesto Police Department has handled this investigation," said Lee. "They worked strictly on a theory that was dreamed up by this detective, I'd say, within the first eight hours, and they pursued it backward from there. And they have neglected so many good leads."
good god, what the heck are they trying play on the people? That woman is a freak, mean spirited, and I see Lee as a having another attitude side. (me street sense see something else of Lee), You know, that interview, and most likely others they give, would be enough to make a skunk vomit!

Looks like Lee and Jackie are feeling rotten these days. (Understandable.) Their problem is, they need an outlet. Let's see... they can't get mad at the Rochas, b/c the Rochas were always friends to them, and besides, the Rochas are obviously full of trouble themselves, what with their DAUGHTER'S AND GRANDSON'S HIDEOUSLY DECOMPOSED BODIES FLOATING UP ON THE SHORE.
Well, they can't get mad at Scott. "Our baby NEEDS us!!!"
Whom does that leave? Oh, yeah--the bad old police and press.
