It does seem peculiar that he would drive 6 hours round trip to take his boat out for 1 hour of so-alled fishing on Christmas eve.

Going fishing on christmas eve is not all that odd .. but driving 6 hours to only fish for 1 hour, that sure would raise a few eyebrows
