I know how you feel. I was due with our first child in early February, right around when Laci was due. I had our son early, and this story continued to haunt me, and has been personally weighing on my soul. Every night I prayed for Laci and the baby. I will continue to do so.

And when I was pregnant, with my child about to be born, that was the time that little Adam Walsh disappeared, and then that horrifying story unfolded, right before my baby entered this world. I'll never ever forget thinking constantly during the last month or so of my pregnancy about that little boy and the Walshes losing what was their only child at that time.

Please allow me to jump in here. I was due with my son almost to the same day as the woman whose psychopath husband murdered her and their unborn son in Boston, about 2 weeks prior. Here we were, my DH and me, so esctatic over getting ready for our baby boy (which we knew ahead of time that we were having a son), and going to work one morning about 2 weeks before I delivered to be told by a coworker about the "tragedy" that happened the night before in Boston. Anyway, Uuon being caught (or just before he was to be arrested), he committed suicide.

It's so hard to forget crimes like that when you're going through such emotionally happy times yourself, isn't it?

I'll always remember, it was late summer of 1981, but I can still feel the terror I felt everytime I read about it in the papers.

Oh my goodness! I had forgotten about that. I lived in MA at the time and I think I was very pregnant at that time, too. When did that happen? Was it in '86 or '89 or am I totally off?
