I think they are calling him a fetus, as it would not sound right to call it a 7 1/2 month old baby as people may think that the child was 7 1/2 months past his actual legal birth date. (calling it a fetus let's people know that the baby was still inside the womb.) (he still killed his child and his wife no matter what - they baby never had a chance to even be born - Laci never got to see her son - it is all so sad, and I hope he faces the chair for killing both of them.)

The baby (a premie perhaps)in the picture is not a fetus because it had been born.
Connor was not born. He will always legally and scientifically be a fetus.
Only in matters of the heart is he considered to be a baby. That is not cruel or cold. It is simply a necessary distinction under these horrible circumstances.
