[history]
California Attorney General Bill Lockyer, who will likely run for governor in 2006, plans to be married today to a former Santa Ana school board member active in Democratic politics who is pregnant with his child.
The Northern California wedding between Lockyer, 61, and Nadia Maria Davis, 31, an Orange County attorney, has been a tightly kept secret in a Capitol buzzing with political gossip.

I wonder if Nadia's dad owns a shotgun I don't think he owns much anymore: "Lockyer's fiancee is the daughter of the late Wallace Davis"

Here is the
obligatory photo via Google Images. Her politics may suck, but she's certainly not bad-looking.

Awe, true love, one liberal marrying another. Lockyer wants to be governor. He is a very dangerous man. He is probably doing this to polish up his image.

"Bill Lockyer takes personal interest in re-filling the ranks of the California Hitler Youth". ;-)

It's a Bill and Hill marriage. She moves UP politically and he gets needed Hispanic voters. It's a win win for the Democrats.
Unfortunately.

Only a d'RAT would be so hard up as to bed down with Slug Lockyer...

Has to have a bride in place in time for the recall ballot pamphlet mailers.
To: NormsRevenge
So, did they get married today? I just heard Lockyer on the radio talking about the arrest of Scott Peterson and the DNA identification of the bodies of his wife Laci and of their baby boy. Lockyer is quite busy today! (for his pregnant bride, it's not exactly the best circumstances for getting married to him)

Not sure with all the happenings.
97 years ago, San Francisco quaked and burned, today, "Chairman Mao" Lockyer may have both married and provided the info that Laci and baby had been found.
One hell of a day to have for a wedding anniversary.

If he thinks marrying a Latino activist will make him a frontrunner for Gov when Davi$ gets recalled, he has another thing coming.
If he prosecuted govt officials for corruption as is his sworn duty, I might consider him worthy. As is, Fugeddaboudit.

Nadia Lockyer , wife of Bill Lockyer has been named to Exec. Direc. position at the Alameda County Family Justice Center in Oakland.
Family Justce Centers are a kind of one-stop shopping for alleged victims of domestic violence.
Nadia Lockyer is underqualified for this position. After a big show of taking applications from 30 applicants, and using two selection committees to find a new ED, big surprise, they picked Lockyer's wife.
But since she is actually now an employee of the DA's office, who can hire whoever they wish, there seems to be no doubt the big process was all for show.
In fact, the selection committees were stacked with DA staff. Both had four members. I have identified two out of four in the final committee as being DA staff, and one out of four in the first stage, with one unknown, but probably DA staff as well.
In other words, Lockyer could not lose if they used a democratic process, because with half the votes, no one else could win. (Not great writing here, but please read the bulletin and you will get it)
Since Lockyer, as Attorney General, is the Top Cop, and has supervisor authority over all District Attorneys, he essentially told his subordinates to hire his wife, and they did it. Once you cut through all the BS, it's that simple.
Please read this brochure:
http://www.alamedacountyda.com/nadialockyer.pdf
That's in PDF, takes a while to load on dialup.
The original job description is here"
http://www.alamedacountyda.com/da2swpranadialockyer
Her resume does not even fit the job requirements.
Lockyer did have some experience on the school board, but with 30 other applicants, it's clear she was not the best qualified.
The laws broken? Ca Govt. Code 87100 and Federal rules governing the grant this agency was started with.
