SATURDAY’S MEADOW

I left the bartering, the press.
I went awandering in the woods
A solitary place to find

Where no one interferes with me
And no one asks me not to cry
For I was left with Rabbi gone

And mission closed and nothing left
To make a sense of day or night.
I need this meadow here, unwind.

I need this chance to throw my head
Against day’s door and weep and stare
For all unraveled last night—done.

SATUDAY’S PETER

I could not find him anywhere
Though I went back to check his chair.
He’s gone, laid low, or dead perhaps?

I don’t know except to say
My heart breaks blood for Peter’s sake.
He’d meant it good but turned it woe.

I know that I would coward be
If there by fire I’d met choregirl.
I know my weakness, oh, my lapse.

My heart goes out to counterpart
Who's lost in tears somewhere, somewhere.

You, too, St. Louie...I just went and purchased the Easter basket and candy for my 15-year-old....what I liked the most was the card I bought, which said:

Daughter, remember
all those cute Easter outfits
you used to wear 
when you were little?

Maybe it's time you stopped now.

(The funny part to this story is her personality, the card fits, so well. She's the kind that would (and has) HAVE to wear the pink tutu, but play in the mud.

Wear boa feather hair clips, with boa feather neckline sweaters, and all sorts of stuff like that, the frillier the better....but she'd be all rough and tumble in her play (and mean, too, once throwing a small rock at her older sister, which landed on her forehead, almost needing stitches). Oh, my.....what to do! : )

That *will* be me come first thing tomorrow morning....lock up your chocolate bunnies because *NONE* of them are safe Easter morning!! LOL!!!

I shouldn't be telling this but...my Mom always bought me a chocolate bunny for Easter until she passed away. My Aunt Lou continues the tradition. LOL

I’m taking spices wrapped in gauze.

I know they’ve sealed him off from view.

Along the way I hear a voice,

LOL! Well, today I am excited. Our new flagpole is being installed, and Monday when we raise the flag for the first time (they said we should allow the concrete to thoroughly cure in the base pole before the main 30' pole is placed in it), I will be "sappy" again. :) Have been wanting this since 9/11. The flag on the house was better than not having one at all, but there is something about being able to hoist that flag up and down every day that just gets to me. ;)
