"The alliance arrived as a liberator and an occupier and that can have its disadvantages. If their experts actually find weapons of mass destruction, their veracity could be doubted," Mr. Blix said in an interview with German magazine Der Spiegel. If Blix wants to postpone his retirement and go back to Iraq, I've got a perfect role for him. Once we find anthrax, or VX, or whatever else is there, Blix can go in and confirm it. He can take a good whiff of the stuff and confirm whether or not it's WMD. If he drops dead, bingo.

I was really outraged by Blix's comment that the UN inspectors had to go in because that was the only way the finds would have credibility. The guy is a jerk!

Call me nitpicking, but this is a short article, made up of the dubious:
"diplomatic sources said",
"According to the sources",
"Reuters news agency reported yesterday",
"A Pentagon official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told Reuters",
"The official did not identify",
"The official said",
"Former inspectors from the United Nations said",
"A former U.N. inspector in Iraq who has talked to the U.S. military said ".
First read, you'd think the credited byline reporter did some real legwork for this article, but not so. It's a copy/paste job through and through. Or worse, creative writing? And...how to explain Reuter's getting all this juicy Pentagon inside information?
