The Myth of the French Franks. The Franks spoke German. Charlemagne (King of the Franks and Holy Roman Emperor) went by Karl, and was known as Karl der gross. In American we would call him Big Chuck. The University system he started had many ancient texts translated into German, (he liked to read.) His capitol was Achen, Germany. Guess where Frankfurt gets its name. I could go on, but I've blathered enough.
What I really wanted to say, is the most people define peace as the absence of war. A more historically correct definition might be that peace is the interval between wars. Just an obsevation.
