The President needs to solidly implement a plan that reverses the perception that he doesn't care about the folks like the Salters. Rather than change "perception," Bush is actually implementing a plan that will improve the economy.
And, whether you like it or not, it starts with tax cuts.
It's not about "caring"; it's about doing what will work.

It's perception that caused the first Bush to lose the 1992 election. Perception is always the key. If you doubt it, go back to 1960 when perception "earned" JFK the presidency, and, in my opinion, the beginning of the decline of traditional American values.
