LOS ANGELES A man claiming to have a bomb entered the Felix Chevrolet dealership in southwest Los Angeles today, leading to a standoff with police.
The incident began about 10 a.m. at Figueroa Street and Exposition Boulevard and was still in progress early this afternoon, said Los Angeles police Lt. Horace Frank.
The building was partially evacuated, and a police bomb squad was sent to the location, which is near the USC campus, Frank said.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.

Anyone else remember the movie, Breaking Out, with Michael Douglas. His series of violence started in a convenience store where he thought he was overcharged for something, then when the clerk at Wammyburger told him he couldnt have breakfast because it was past 10:30 am, he pulled out the heavy artillery. Great movie!!!!!!!

The bomb squad should have detonated the man just to be safe (that's what they would have done with a mysterious abandoned package).

It seems like it was a hoax, not a false alarm. Hoax means that the threat was made. False alarm implies no truth to the story.
The threat has subsided though.
