Andrew Card said in an online discussion he believed Saddam was dead. But a survey of 7,122 people published by Gulf News on Thursday showed a majority believed he was alive

Well, that settles it then. When there are no facts in evidence, we'll ask a bunch of people who don't know either, and take the majority guess! That's journalism for ya.

He's either dead or alive. I feel strongly both ways. He may also still be in Iraq or else he's hiding in another country.

Seriously, it looks like a lot of rumors and polls are being passed of as news. Of course most of these polls are simply distilled rumors.
