[history]
It was almost a disappointment when Iraqi "Information Minister" Mohammed Saeed Al-Sahaf failed to show up for work last week. He, along with the rest of the Saddamite criminal conspiracy that called itself the Ba'ath Party, simply disappeared. In his final performances, Al-Sahaf's daily press briefings were becoming a Babylonian "Saturday Night Live."

Read this article today in my local paper and it got me to thinking. We are amazed/baffled when we see a disproportionate number of Arabs who were or still ARE victims of the slanted media such as Al-Jezeera, etc. That's why so many polled in Arab nations expressed dismay that Sadam Hussein was defeated so easily; they had actually BELIEVED Baghdad Bob's lines (despite the sound of heavy artillery in the background). And yet, I have to wonder how many of us in the US have been just as gullible when it comes to slanted reporting by our own media.

"...when it comes to slanted reporting by our own media." There is no slanted reporting anywhere in America. There is none. I will show you in one hour.

Charen says, Similarly today, many Arabs are responding with disbelief and confusion to pictures of Iraqis gleefully greeting American soldiers and Marines.
Interesting that just about every mention of the word "Arab" could be replaced with the word "democrat", and the article would still read true.

they had actually BELIEVED Baghdad Bob's lines My favorite image was not Baghdad Bob, but a concocted meeting of the military advisers, one pointing to a map on the wall, which began shaking rhythmically with "Boom.....Boom......Boom," and then the photo op ended.

the evidence pointed to the pilot who shouted Islamic epithets as he nosed the plane in. With my parents' next door neighbors and dear friends on board.

Alas, my bed awaits. I have to be up for work in TWO hours. But I'll be sure to check for the proof you so convincingly promised (insert 'sarcasm' here)

Also one of my faves... good night all.

And furthermore, I am not slanted. Some say I'm slanted, but it is the ground that makes me appear slanted. I have never been slanted. Never.
