Oh, I think we've all heard different - it just doesn't set our hearts afire, if you catch my drift :)

Nice try but Resty can't stay on topic at all. She has to post gifs to redirect discussion so she doesn't need to think. Must be awful to live that way.

Add to that her jibes about us "straying off the reservation" as if the Bible and the Reformation never spoke about applying our faith to government and society, and you'll understand why my profile page says this at the top:

BLESSED ARE THE PURE IN HEART, FOR THEY HAVE SO MUCH MORE TO TALK ABOUT!

LOL! Your profile page makes a lot of sense. :-) Interesting that the Christians I know can intelligently disagree and remain friends while the (FR5th amendment) followers cannot do so.

Alex:

Lovely weather tonight. How is it your way? The only thing about rain that is annoying is the inevitable cold I get. :-)

I wish we had a support the troops rally but I have done plenty after church. :-) The Chaldeans and Assyrians are just the nicest people. Mostly RC but I worked with a Chaldean who was a CC attendee. He comments about the Baathists were quite enlightening. It must be hell to live in the MidEast as a dhimmi. (any other meanings are at the discretion of the reader. Please no stupid gifs. thanks!) The Chaldeans had free water and soda for the folks at the rally and have been partying since the Marines landed in Iraq.

Posting while angry is not healthy. I hope you can resolve the issues that lead you to derail this thread.

I hope Franklin Graham or Greg Laurie can visit Iraq soon. They are fantastic speakers and Samaritan's Purse is designed for circumstances like the Iraqi people face. :-)

Hey folks this is not the religious forum

Nor is it a food court :) I don't compartmentalize my faith into "spiritual" and "natural" things. If one man is lost without Christ, why would anyone think three men functioning as a government would be any different?

...but you can post this to a a forum that is discussing this issue!

Been there, done that.

" Instead, the British forces who captured Basra have appointed a former senior Baathist general as transitional mayor of this city of 1.3 million people, as well as former Baathists as police and traffic chiefs. Many of the members of the transitional city council, the majlis, are Baath Party adherents."

I'm not convinced that putting them back into positions of authority is a good idea.

I found this interesting:

"In 1959, I was in Baghdad and saw somebody being dragged in handcuffs behind a car by communists," he explained. "I didn't know at the time but it was actually my brother and he was a Baath Party member. I said at the time, as long as the communists torture people from the Baath Party, I want to join it and defend it."

This one tries to delineate between communists and the Baath party. They are one in the same. It sounds like there was alot of confusion on who was representing what, political partywise.

I believe in ONE God not a polytheistic council of Gods while publically stating monotheistic beliefs. That is confusing. And yes, the Grahams are relevant to this discussion since their Ministry Samaritan's Purse is dedicated to feeding the poor. And they do not hand out some used clothes and quilts then leave when the cameras turn off.

***

CARepubGal, you believe in the Trinity of 3 spirits IN ONE SPIRIT Father, Son, and Holy Ghost!

The LDS believe in 3 personages the Heavely Father, Son Jesus Christ and Holy Ghost ALL BEING ONE IN DOING GOD WILL.

So there is NO confusion!
