The U.S. Olympic Committee and American sport federations for more than a decade allowed athletes who failed drug tests in qualifying events to compete in the Olympic Games and other world-class competitions.

The Orange County Register reviewed more than 10,000 pages of confidential documents from 1988 to 2000 that show for the first time how the U.S. Olympic movement failed to deal with its own doping issues and kept test results a secret while accusing other countries of failing to control drug use in athletics.

The list of athletes who have had gold medals stripped is very small. Long after the revelation that almost all East German athletes were on banned drugs they still retain their literally hundreds of gold medals.

I had to laugh when the snowboarders were caught with pot in their system. Since the demon weed should have just killed them instantly or turned them into violent rapist Bill Clintons, the committee decided to let them off.

The IOC and the USOC are truly becoming nannies since banning substances beyond steroids.

Before anyone posts their support of this practice, keep in mind that the European Union THIS YEAR has made moves to ban vitamins.
