Your not quite arguments make absolutly no sence.
Had we dropped my personal favorite weapon, a nuclear detonation, you may have verged on rational.
in your own 9 out of 10 killed viewpoint, do you actually think the ratio of civilian to combatant was even close? If so, may I suggest you enlarge your information intake sources beyond ABC and Al Jaseera.
If you are a strict pacifist, say so.
If you are not, I dont see any way you can rationally argue that this war killed more civilians than combatants.
People died in a war!
Breaking news headlines for morons.
Do you prefer the dead be USA civilian citizens, spread out over several years, while everyone cowers in fear from insane terrorists?
If that was your first choice, may I break the news to you that that is not a viable "peacefull" option.
How is the weather today in the terrorist controlled region of Israel? Or do you hail from LA?

And what if, in our supreme effort to avoid casualties on our own side, nine of of every ten people we kill harbored no ill will at all for America, and perhaps even harbored good will towards sarasmom? Is that a quote from Jane Fonda or Susan Sarandon????I would suggest you look at the figures inre pro American Iraqis killed by our troops. We caused very few deaths of the Mother Teresas of the world. What is your point?

How is the weather today in the terrorist controlled region of Israel? Or do you hail from LA? Actually, I'm a rabidly conservative war monger. The only difference between you and me is that I find myself trusting George W. Bush no more then I trusted Bill Clinton.
Now if you want to talk about gong toe-to-toe with N. Korea you'll find me all for it. This won't happen, however, because the content of our national character is not compatible with taking on a *REAL* enemy.

Well from your wish to take on China's premier puppet, when it is not yet needed, and all indications point to the fact that they may self-destruct without the need to have massive casualties in South Korea, Japan, and our own troops stationed over there...
Pardon me if I wrongly get the feeling you may still be fighting a past war.
BTW, a conservative is not a war monger. Most of those who identify themselves as conservatives have more than a theoretical aquaintance with the hell that is war.
No conservative would select war as the first choice in any given situation. But all conservatives would acknowledge war as a viable option, when other choices fail to produce the desired results.

Pardon me if I wrongly get the feeling you may still be fighting a past war. There you go again, sarasmom, putting words in my mouth. I have no basis for any old grudges against North Korea. I want them nuked because they never miss an opportunity to "b*tch slap" the good ol' USA, and it's got me pissed off.
That's a whole different motivation than wanting to steer ten percent of a $70+ Billion Iraq cleanup budget to political cronies to extinguise a few measley oil fires.
The years under Bill Clinton left me tremendously disillusioned and cynical, and I had hoped that George W. would abate that. It seems to be that the American people are these days born to be fleeced, conservative and socialist alike ... and I do find that most frustrating.
