Hinds County's homeless population almost equals that recorded for the entire state in the 2000 Census, according to a survey released on Tuesday.
Of the 340 homeless people who participated in the Partners to End Homelessness Coalition Point in Time Survey, the average age was about 40, 82 percent were male and 28 percent had been in the military. The average respondent was homeless for 3.8 years.

Long time ago, in the West, we didn't call them homeless. We called them Cowboys. Later on we called them Hobos.

Jackson is the only place that I have ever seen a mall with a 12 foot fence all around it and armed gaurds at each entrance/exit. I'm not kidding, I was amazed.
