"Buddy" Leach was a congressman from 1979-81. He was unseated by the Democrat (later Republican) Charles E. "Buddy" Roemer in 1980. Roemer won the governorship in 1987 and then lost the primary in 1991 to David Duke, who went to prison in Texas on Tax Day, 2003!

Which Democrat Leach?Isn't that all of them.

Leach said his plan is to tax foreign oil passing through the state. So that Americans can pay more for it. Seriously, isn't this unconstitutional? Can a state legally levy tarriffs?

Good point, Hossier man. A state cannot impose a tariff. The Constitution says that all national taxes must be uniform among the states. People in LA don't read the Constitution, and sometimes I wonder if you Hossier read it either! At least you all didn't fall TWICE for Bill Clinton!

Well, there is a Republican named "Leach" from IA, but he votes mostly like a Democrat.
