chnsmok,
I have a question. Did you sincerely mean what you wrote when you said: :You are correct and I apologize. I realized that after I posted and was off to bed. I am sorry.
You are really confusing me here. I can see NO statement by Howlin that would indicate she is anti-gun...and yet you felt the need to add, in the very next sentence after you apologized, this: " The post I sited shows your misunderstanding of the issue. If you would care to discuss it or learn, please join the gun grab thread du jour at http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/894916/posts ".
Is this a discussion about guns and the constitution on your part? Because I think I am seeing an animus on your part towards Howlin that is NOT related to the discussion on this thread. I can find NO statement that supports your accusations towards Howlin re: her views on guns....or her lack of understanding of the Constitution.
Am I missing those posts?

The apology is sincere even though when I called Howlin on the same thing (not pinging someone you are discussing) a few weeks ago, I was told to get lost. I do not have time to get into the other arguement as I need to get to work and it probably would not further your understanding of the matter anyway. Are you the second string?

chnsmok....your comment about 'the second string' was uncalled for. Do you get accused of being the 'second string' if you post your comments and they happen to be in agreement with another poster? How silly.
I asked sincere questions and you chose to not answer all of them them. That's fine. But don't doubt the sincerity of the questions and your obvious desire to NOT address all of them.

I guess it was yours. I forget sometimes in between posts who I'm directing things too.

"Well, if you want to go around killing folks, Godebert, be my guest."Would you be so kind as to show me where I made such a statement. Notice I did you the courtesy of quoting you directly and in context. I'll make this simple for you Mary......do you or do you not think the so-called "assault" weapons ban is Constitutional?
To: chnsmok; Howlin
Yes....I saw that post of Howlin's. My first thought was that he was being less than honest about those supposedly anti-gun NRA friends he claims to have. I guess anything is possible though.
To: Godebert
Why am I not surprised that you believe that anybody who doesn't agree with you is lying.

Not "anybody".........just you, Howlin.
So you surveyed your gun-owning NRA member friends about "assault" weapons and they stated that they had no need or desire to own such weapons. What was your purpose for conducting such a survey? Did these same friends also tell you that they support president Bush's intention to renew the so-called "assault" weapons ban if the bill reaches his desk? Do you believe such a bill is Constitutional?
To: Godebert
Sorry. I'm just not playing your game.
You can just take my statements and twist them anyway you need to to make yourself feel better.

How did I twist your words? I asked you simple, straight forward questions, which you refuse to answer. Shall I repeat the questions or are you just too much of a coward to answer them?
To: Godebert
I don't have to justify my beliefs and opinions to anybody, much less somebody who is trolling for a fight.

Thank you. :)

"I don't have to justify my beliefs and opinions to anybody...."You're right about that, but then why do you even bother to spend time at a conservative political internet forum in the first place?

I spoofed Rush, not the dead person. You never even saw the original comment so your comment is from a perspective shrouded in ignorance.
To: jejones
However, making fun of soemone's death says a lot about the person who does it, and what it says isn't particularly good.I didn't make fun of anyone's death. If you had read the deleted post you might have gotten which way the humor was directed. Or you can read on to later posts of mine where I explained what used to be up before some moderator went a little overboard.
To: paulsy
Another comment from another person who never read the what I wrote or who the humor was directed at. Ignorance is more common than common sense./
To: big ern
If you prefer then, I look forward to you spoofing and enjoying the person who goofs on Reagan when he dies.
People who don't understand that if almost everyone thinks they're an a**hole, they're probably an a**hole.

I didn't spoof on anyone who died. Get over it.
I used a southern accent that Rush uses for Sen. Hollings to say he had too much tragedy in his life lately.
If your too can't accept that explanation than you just will have to keep on hating me. If that's what get's you off getting angry at people you don't know who weren't even talking about you and didn't do what your saying they did.
To: Godebert
I have no idea if modern assault weapons were what the framers of the constitution had in mind. We have a right to bear arms and to protect ourselves. I'm not sure we need an assault weapon to do so, but it really doesn't matter that much to me since I sure won't have one in the house. If others want it, do it with my blessing.
