The amount of spending by the federal government needs to be reduced rather than hammering the hell out of the people and families who end up spending most of their income on goods. This president not stopped the rise in federal spending and now wants to go for the throat of the taxpayer.

FSP, Agreed. And, the lower earning taxpayer the hardest. And, the "movers and shakers" would have less incentive to keep the rate low. Whereas, with a flat tax on income with no deductions and or exemptions, they would have a BIG interest in keeping the bite low and lowering government expenditures.
