People in the south have no monopoly on love for this country. That may be so, but it is also true that the regions to the northeast and to the left of the south have disproportionately large numbers of America-haters when compared to the normal regions of the country.

NO, but southern men/women have defended this nation from the end of TWBTS until now in FAR greater numbers than our percentage of the population.
i have a poster from the WW2 era, printed by the US government, which has crossed dixie & US flags & the caption: join the army & help the south win the war!
