I know you are embarrassed to be an American, but since this is Free Republic, you should at least try to hide your dislike for America.

I'm sorry, that's a personal attack and an insult to my father who fought in Korea, my father-in-law who we just buried - a double Bronze Star recipient from WWII and my grandfather who was exposed to nerve gas in France in WWI. It's even an insult to my two great-grandfathers who fought for the Confederacy, and to my Huguenot ancestors who were here in the 1600s settling this country.

I bust my butt every day trying to make things better in this country. You know absolutely NOTHING about me, except that I'm a southernor.

You completely ignore the fact that I, unlike other southernors, have said I have a great deal of respect for Abraham Lincoln. He was a courageous man dealing with an impossible task.

But you are so delusional that you can't even argue, so you result to cheap shots.

Yes, I suppose calling you an idiot and yankee vermin moron was also "personal." But considering you tried to link me to David Duke and you called me un-American, I think you got off easy.

I've pinged a few friends here (along with the management) who might differ with your assessment. My apologies to them for interrupting their regular freeping.

Don't hide behind your relatives. It really doesn't matter to me, and I could care less from where you come.

Your defense of succession, of slavery, and the antebellum South are reprehensible.

If Corin and his fellow neo-Confederates withdraw their accusation that Lincoln was a dictatorial maniac who could care less for the Constitution, then I withdraw calling him David Duke. If not, then we cannot separate ourselves from those whom we sound familiar.

Just ask Democrats who try to talk pro-war when they are anti-war. It has the same air of hypocrisy.

Corin, you've been on this forum for years and have always been able to argue your point forcefully, yet respectfully. Then we have a rude yahoo who's been here for five or so months who insinuates folks with opposite opinions are David Dukes, Simon Legrees, slavocrats, etc. You obviously wasted some of your precious time here, but at least some of us have benefitted by now knowing what to look out for.

What I find particularly amusing is that RW lists Ronald Reagan as one of his idols. Must have missed that whole "Eleventh Commandment" thing.
