This is DU, so "have" can have a double meaning here. :-(

The author makes some good points. Put the shoe on the other foot. A conservative woman on a date with a liberal man. Doesn't work either! I speak from experience. Here's my fantasy date.
I announce, on the first date,
my entire political opinion about the Clintons,
especially Hitlery.
If the guy doesn't faint, he could be a keeper.
Otherwise, why bother?
If Hillary wins the White House in 2004 or 2008
you can't waste time on the weak-in-spirit.
A Conservative isn't necessarily a Patriot

If you think this guy has it hard, try finding conservative Jewish girls who are not orthodox.
I went to Jdate.com and found 4 in the NY metro area!
You think you have it tough??? I'm conservative, Jewish and live in a celebrity-ridden part of L.A. (Mike Farrell uses the same mailbox place I use - yuck).
BTW, my best friend used to be a nice, Jewish, conservative, single girl in Manhattan - but now she's a nice, Jewish, conservative, married gal in New Jersey. So they are out there!

Wassup widdat?I guess it's because kind, intelligent people can disagree and still have a pleasant time together. I certainly don't enjoy being around someone who agrees with me on everything. How terribly boring that would be. Or, on the other hand, he could have just wanted your number and was willing to put up with nearly anything to get it. BTW, sorry to be dull, but I do agree about Beethoven.

Liberate Oscar" - VIGIL to Honor Charlton Heston, in Beverly Hills on FRIDAY (4/18) from 3pm to 9pm
Yes, I saw that - I'm thinking about going.
My parents were at the Sportsman Lodge this past Saturday evening - there to help their next-door neighbor celebrate her 91st birthday (bless her). At the next table were the Hestons with another couple.
I guess there can be an upside to living amongst the famous....LOL!

FYI, DU links are not welcome here.

Sounds like a great time! I went to the LA Marathon Pro-Troops rally, and had just the best time.
I haven't had the time to attend other events since then,
but maybe Friday will be a good time to go.
It's a long drive for me, but if you live close...
GO FOR IT!! :)
Have fun!

Ewww! Shallow psuedo-intellectualism and the Jappy valley girls plus the celebrity idol-worship.

As long as you understand that I possess deep pseudo-intellectualism....
And Jewish I may be - but never a Jap. Daddy wouldn't let me, you know. LOL!
Regarding the celebrity worship - having seen too many so-called celebrities around here, I know there's nothing worth worshipping at all. There are a few cool ones, but not enough to make up for all the jerks.
Besides, actors never did anything for me. I've always liked the wonky, scientific types.

Beverly Hills is just a hop over the hill for me. Still thinking about it.

I suggest this "Conservative" should start dating women (singular is woman) rather than just "female" or "girl", which he kept referring to with tiresome consistancy.
He should be seeking a mate who is an adult. The young are often stupid and liberal.

If you think this guy has it hard, try finding conservative Jewish girls who are not orthodox. Try finding them in South Carolina!
I love living here, but the only Jewish women around are snowbird retirees. Not exactly a target-rich environment. ;-)

Don't you know the secret? Practice guitar scales every day. In 10 years you'll have cocaine and groupies galore. What'll practicing banjo get me?

Depends whether it's a 5 or a 4 string one. :-)

Depends whether it's a 5 or a 4 string one. :-) I go both ways. ;-)
[Boring Music Geek Stuff: I have a cheapo 5-string with a loooong neck that I mostly play as a 4-string because the 5th string won't stay in tune. I've been thinking about getting a real 4-string (i.e. a plectrum banjo), but my cheapo has a plectrum-length neck, and the length makes it uncomfortable to play for long periods. Never tried a tenor banjo.]
