Yeah I guess the Russian way is to slug it out with maximum infantry casualties. If this is true think of how many young American men are going home to their families who would otherwise not. Since the Iraqi army was a clone of the Russina (soviet) era military and equipted with similar weapons, this seems more like damage control. If you are any nation in the world whose weapons do you want to buy in order to defend youself? Obviously, the russian products and tactics have not proven themselves on the battlefield.
