Agreed, why don't the Lebanese complain about "occupation"?

Dear Friends,

It is of the utmost importance for us to get this story out to America and we need your help.

My colleagues and I are actively working to create a Free Lebanon for the people of a country that has suffered for too long under the heel of a Syrian occupation. Under this tyranny, Lebanon has been made a center for terrorism that threatens the Middle East as well as America and the rest of the civilized world. It is long past time to return that country to rightful owners, its people, and wipe away the stain of terrorism and evil from its soil.

Please see the two organizations (the US Committee for a Free Lebanon, Inc. www.freelebanon.org and the Middle East Intelligence Bulletin www.meib.org ) we founded in 1997 and 1999 to learn about what we are trying to do.

We speak for many of the two million Lebanese Americans who are anxious to bring this issue to the attention of the rest of our fellow citizens.

Please consider these organizations and me as a resource when addressing issues regarding Lebanon, Syria and Hezbollah; I will be glad to speak on the record or for background and would be honored to appear on any programs you are planning.

This is an important time for the people of Lebanon and their story has to be told.

Please be aware:

**Lebanon is still under Syrian occupation after 27 years of struggle against Syria's Ba'athist regime (similar to the one in Iraq).

**Once the jewel of the Mediterranean, Lebanon has become a hotbed of mullahs and terrorists.

**The "Free Lebanon" movement in this country is made of over 2 million Lebanese Americans and the Lebanese freedom loving Diaspora is made of over 15 million people worldwide; all ready, willing and eager to embrace any help from the United States to contain Syrian aggression. If there is any one country in the Middle East that could become a democracy quickly and aid others in their search for freedom, it is Lebanon.

**Lebanon, as a free country, was home to all peoples and religions. Christians, Muslims and Jews lived side by side until the country was rent apart by the turbulence around it.

**Now is the time to put an end to Syria's occupation of Lebanon and to restore Lebanon to its people.

Help us to expose the Syrian occupation of Lebanon for what it is. Let us show the world the terrorism it spawns and bring freedom to the people of that tiny, embattled country.

Thanks for this post, I wish we could just keep going right through Syria to the Med, but I know we won't, too bad. To me it almost seems that ARABS are their own worst enemies, at each turn they seem to radicalize themselves more. This is very self-destructive, it seems they are mostly delusional about the world they live in.

I am still trying to decide which is better, Syrian occupation or anarchy and civil war. Have to get back to you on that one.

Yonif - Glad you posted. I agree with you whole-heartedly how Lebanon could QUICKLY become the center-piece of Freedom for the middle east. Keep the Faith.
