Hmmmm. Kind of reminiscent of the great trans-Atlantic ocean liners being killed off by the airlines - then re-emerging (Albeit years later) as cruise ships. For decades the great liners competed with faster and ever faster ships. Today, their market is completely different. Speed is now irrelevant, having been replaced as a competitive factor by opulence, entertainment and price since no one actually travels by ship anymore. If you want to get somewhere, you fly.

I wonder how air travel will evolve.

Just a thought

I forget which company just built the small jet that holds about 8 passengers.

This where a lot of people are going to go. They are chartering these planes to fly like from San Francisco to the Bend Or area for skiers, fly fisher or Golfers. In stead of a hassle to get to the airport, the hassle at both airport, people are chartering these small planes. Then they go to a small airport, walk on board, take off and land without a hassle at their destination. The plane then takes people back or to another desination. If a week or a few days, the skiers, fly fishers or Golfers fly back to the Bay area.

This will be one trend.
