You are very right. For instance, I still disagree with some of his tariff policies (steel tariffs, anybody? blech), I'm not as concerned with the abortion issue, and I get antsy about the Patriot Act.

Watch for the shills and the paleo-conservatives to attack Bush. Watch for the rise of the neo-conservatives -- "compassionate conservatives", if you want, although I hate the term. I consider myself a neo-conservative/small-l libertarian, but, at the end of the day, a good conservative, neo or paleo, and I am amazed on a day-to-day basis with Bush, and moreover, the administration's ability to deal with problems with a new level of flexibility in strategery. ;-)

But make no mistake, your warning should be read and re-read. The rats, of demo or other variety, will begin coming out of the woodwork very soon.

Great post, Kip- and and even greater example of how your 'key' issues are different than everyone else's. Not every Republican (or Bushbot to be more specific) goosesteps to GWBs drumbeats, no matter what anyone says.
