You are very right. For instance, I still disagree with some of his tariff policies (steel tariffs, anybody? blech), I'm not as concerned with the abortion issue, and I get antsy about the Patriot Act.
Watch for the shills and the paleo-conservatives to attack Bush. Watch for the rise of the neo-conservatives -- "compassionate conservatives", if you want, although I hate the term. I consider myself a neo-conservative/small-l libertarian, but, at the end of the day, a good conservative, neo or paleo, and I am amazed on a day-to-day basis with Bush, and moreover, the administration's ability to deal with problems with a new level of flexibility in strategery. ;-)
But make no mistake, your warning should be read and re-read. The rats, of demo or other variety, will begin coming out of the woodwork very soon.
