I'll do what I do with most "historial novels": page through it looking for the hilariously bad sex scene with phrases like "throbbing loins" and "Oh, pleasure me, Mandingo!"

"historial" = "historical." Although in this case, it also = "hysterical."

One of the characters of his sweeping epic, "The Hornet's Nest", is Ethan Pratt, a forebear with some startling resemblances to Carter.

This might actually be a good read. I have yet to see a book on the Revolution about citizens trying to appease the British, and using the respect thus earned by the British as leverage to win consulting contracts with Colonial merchants. A fascinating perspective, really.

I'm placing my advance order as well.

I can't wait to read the chapter where the lead character sails to London against the advice of the Continental Congress and signs a treaty with King George to reduce the tax on tea and to stop the quartering of Hessian mercenaries in colonists' homes.

The only thing I miss about the Carter years is his brother Billy.
