I happen to believe that the media in this country owes the people the truth, not what they PERCEIVE as the truth, and especially not what some rogue regime tells them to report or they have to leave the country. I don't disagree with any of that. We're talking about protecting someone's safety, that's all. It's just like the government, when they don't want to reveal intel in open court because it might compromise the source of the information.

We're talking about protecting someone's safety, that's all. Someone's?
How many people do you estimate died in Iraq during the last 12 years of Saddam's reign?
And what if CNN had told what they knew?

We're talking about protecting someone's safetyCNN should have left Iraq and reported the torture story, after the cameraman's release.
