Well partly true, but don't discount that the US military is now the most LETHAL organisation ever seen on this planet.

The technology, the training, the dedication, the latest concepts in fast maneuver, the incredible air power would make just about any opponent look weak.

I know what you mean, in a conventional military sense. However, don't forget that the terrorist mentality is strongest in that neck of the woods, and their religion endorses lying when it's expedient. So their cowardice, combined with their fanaticism, combined with their dishonesty, does make them a threat, in terms of things like terrorist use of WMD.
