Joel Pett is the world's worst cartoonist. He can't draw, and he's wrong about everything (apropos as a subject of this article, though.) I'm amazed that the Herald-Leader stays in business....its editorial position is that of the looney left, which certainly doesn't reflect the local community. I guess most people buy it for the basketball coverage and comics, or to line the birdcage.

p.s. For those of you reading this thread who've not seen Pett's cartoons, imagine cartoons penned by someone from the Democratic Underground board who has no artistic or comic talent.

I delivered the Staunton News-Leader, in Staunton, Va., years ago as a young lad. I remember one customer quit the newspaper because his dog died. All he got it for was for dog droppings. Most newspapers are like that, these days.
