That bureau required a lot of time, money, and effort. And for what? CNN had to know the risk they were running in pandering to a bloodthirsty dictator. They sure weren't getting any stories to spike their ratings. Either they thought that no-one would give a darn and it was all about being able to say
they had someone on the ground in Iraq, which is a distinct possibility, or there was something else in it for somebody involved.
Maybe Eason generated this stink to get everyone's minds off the other possibility...
And for what? CNN had to know the risk they were running in pandering to a bloodthirsty dictator. They're in Havana, too, are they not? Of course, Castro is the favorite dictator and darling of the media anyway.
