With Republicans expecting President Bush to roll to reelection in 2004, their focus is fast turning to 2008 and whom the GOP will run against expected Democratic nominee Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton. Now, Whispers is told that Florida Gov. Jeb Bush looks strong. "If Jeb is in the mix" for the nomination, says a top GOP official, "it's his."

It might be fun, but I don't see Jeb running before 2012 at the earliest. While he's definitely qualified, the air of dynasty could turn off voters. And with the Wicked Witch of the West Wing likely running, the GOP is going to need every vote it can get to save the country.

I'm in. Kinda looking forward to it.

Maybe so, but I'd bet it wouldn't be successful. Do you really think Jeb Bush is electable in a state that elects Hillary Clinton, Chuck Schumer, and Charles Rangel? Or do you also have a plan for increasing the IQ of the average New York voter?

Whoops, just realized I misunderstood the point. Thought the idea was to block Clinton from maintaining her Senate seat!

If the Republicans are smart, the nominee will be Condi Rice.
To: Pokey78
I don't see Jeb. He is nowhere near so noble a spirit as his brother, as I have personal reasons to know.
How much better it would be if any Republican ticket had Condi Rice on it! Yet I fear her forsaking her great dignity and unassailable position as National Security Advisor by getting quagmired in the nasty politics of California. I wish she would not run for office out there.
Imagine the contrast between this beautiful, superbly educated, cultured, dignified, brilliant woman and that slovenly and immoral creature, Hillary Clinton! It's impossible to imagine a ticket with Dr. Rice on it losing to such a person.

No way.
Look, I voted for dubya twice and I plan to vote for him again but enough is enough.. Forget it.
Besides, I get the impression that Dubya is the more Conservative of the two regardless.
