Honestly, I don't think the Administration will be "disappointed" at all. I think they will shrug, because it is exactly what was expected --- well, except for the idiots at the State Dept.
I certainly didn't take the appointment of this new guy as anything but show. Arafat is in charge and will be until he drops dead, or someone helps him to drop dead. These people, at this point in time, are hopeless.
I agree. I think that the whole thing was a set up to show the other members of the "Quartet" that the Palestinians still are under the thumb of Arafat and that he is not willing to cut a deal.
I wonder how long we have to play this Road Map game. It would be nice to be able to take it off the table altogether based on the fact that Abu Mazen had to run to Arafat and that he refused to approve the cabinet.
