I BELIEVE the POW's mother is right. She prayed that God would soften the hearts of their captors. AND HE DID! (Along with some bombs that God gave us to use.)
Another photo:
Army Pfc. Patrick Miller, 23, of Park City, Kan., center, of the 507th Maintenance Company, who has been held as a POW by Iraqi forces since March 23 when his convoy was ambushed in the southern Iraqi city of Nasiriyah, is escorted on to a waiting C-130 transport plane by U.S. Marines Sunday, April 13, 2003, 60 miles south of Baghdad. Ranger I have a large print of that painting that has a very special place in my house. Every time I look at it I get goosebumps. It is my all time favorite.

What incredible good news. I was fairly convinced they were not coming back alive.

I notice that almost none of the DU posts seem overly happy. This remark jumped out at me. "Baghdad's fall makes Red Cross job harder."
Oh by all means, we should have allowed SH to remain in power and continue to murder, maim, and torture innocent civilians by the thousands at his whim rather than to make the job of the Red Cross more difficult.

I shared your pessimism. Unlike that Garafalo witch, I am happy to admit I was wrong!
YEEHAH! WHOOPEE! Thank God they are alive and will soon be home. It's really something of a miracle, given the horrendous way that the Iraqi military treated our POWs, and the recently found "bloody American military uniforms."

GREAT NEWS THIS MORNING!
Our thanks to the Armed Forces Personnel who were there to rescue them, our thanks to the Iraqi's who were moved to give them up ... most of all, our thanks to God in Heaven that in His mercy they were all allowed to live through this ordeal.
A truly miraculous event ... to be added to a full line of them as this campaign has been so faithfully and marvelously conducted by our forces and our leaders.

The event belies the title . . .DEATH SPEAKS:There was a merchant in Bagdad who sent his servant to market to buy provisions and in a little while the servant came back, white and trembling, and said, Master, just now when I was in the market-place I was jostled by a woman in the crowd and when I turned I saw it was Death that jostled me. She looked at me and made a threatening gesture; now, lend me your horse, and I will ride away from this city and avoid my fate. I will go to Samarra and there Death will not find me. The merchant lent him his horse, and the servant mounted it, and he dug his spurs in its flanks and as fast as the horse could gallop he went. Then the merchant went down to the market-place and he saw me standing in the crowd and he came to me and said, Why did you make a threatening gesture to my servant when you saw him this morning? That was not a threatening gesture, I said, it was only a start of surprise. I was astonished to see him in Bagdad, for I had an appointment with him tonight in Samarra.

It appears that Hernandez has his arm in a sling in this photo. That probably means the POWs were receiving some medical care.

I thank a lot of prayers of Thank You Lord with a lot of tears are happening all across America today.
The mother of one of the Warrant Officer Apache Pilots was on Tony Snow's program a few minutes ago. Tomorrow is her birthday, and what a wonderful birthday present for her!
