If you think the world is in danger of catastrophe because of a vast media-driven conspiracy, perhaps you should be here instead of here. That is more your speed.

WE trashed their museum?

Evidence?

Of a single American looting the museum?

Even though we trashed their museum.

What a lie! - Who's side are you on? - Huh? - Who's?

"If your argument against women in the military all boils down to the issue of pregancy and menstration, I would gleefully point out that women know how to handle both and have since the begining of time."

I imaging that many military women in this situation, may be on birth control or may actually get the birth control shot...this makes the likelihood of pregnancy almost nil and GREATLY lessens the length of menstruation. There are even some medications that can stop menstruation all together. I have to say, if I was in a combat situation, I'd be taking it. Who needs to worry about tampons when you're getting shot at???

If you think the world is in danger of catastrophe...

I didn't say that. I said that the public is supporting anti-american media because it sells. Both the left and the right accuse the media of being "under someone's control." It's just the market.

I'm not advocating control of the media, I'm advocating a market shift. Maybe that's already happening. According to The Washington Times, Fox averaged 1.2 million viewers a night in 2002. CNN attracted 898,000.

Amen, brother.

I don't like women being in the military, but is has nothing to do with what they want, and what they are capable of.

I can't argue with the fact that if a woman can physically do it, she should be able to. Logically, that works.

I can't argue with the fact that despite the fact that women do face certain risks in the field that men do not (at least, not to the same degree), if a woman is aware of it she should be able to accept the risk. Logically, that works.

The reason I oppose women in the military is that women and men are wired differently, and I am wired to want to protect women, and while I feel horrible when a man is killed or captured or anything, I feel beyond horrible when a woman is. It goes against my nature to put women, or children, at risk.

It isn't their problem, it is mine. But that doesn't mean I should just have to 'eat' my problem. I wish our women were not put in harms' way.

I have looked at your posts, and now see from your other history that perhaps your post was just sarcasm. Strange sarcasm, because it still works against us, but at least I think I get it. Sorry for the flame.

Need more coffee.

The CNN reporter on the scene said that our troops who found the POW's were elated and the POW's looked skinny and a lot had grown beards. They were abandoned on the side of the road and they think if we had not come along when we did, they would have been moved north to Tikrit. The reporter was up on a hill watching Tikrit and said the battle of Tikrit has begun and he could see Apache helicopters coming in and out of Tikrit. Tanks and a big battle taking place.

There is a lot of grouchiness on this thread this morning! My head is spinning wondering why people feel the need to bring all these other issues (pointing at you too! ;~D) into this thread about rescue of a bunch of our soldiers!

Thank God they appear to be safe, and thank those Iraqi soldiers for turning them over. This gives them a pass... I hope.

Who knows if it was Iraqi soldiers or Iraqi locals who pointed the way. Either way, they deserve some prayers of thanks.

They do have some injuries, according to MSNBC, the woman has been shot perhaps twice, and a man has an arm in a sling.

Most women can't lug a 200 lb dead weight guy very far if at all. That possibly means....a man left behind. That's the problem and the bottom line.

Good point. ?I saw one report in a post? that "they had been abandoned by their commander and turned them in" Assumed "they" were Iraqi soldiers from that.

Yes... MSNBC just repeated that our guys were flagged down by Iraqi soldiers.

That is encouraging- it shows that out of fear of what we will do to them if they don't talk (a misguided fear, we are compassionate and just) or out of a lack of fear any long as to what Saddam will do to them if they do, they are opening up to us.

GOOD.

You should have paid attention in biology class; ovaries are gonads.

Having said that, I agree, women don't belong anywhere near combat or combat support.
