I think my post was too vague. My point is that the NRA made a special effort to convey the fact whoever was voted into office last November would be the ones voting for or against sunsetting the Assault Weapons Bill.

Our problem with Bush is he was elected into office with the promise of no more gun control. He didn't promise to roll back any of it. The Congressman and Senator I helped during the election promised to sunset the Bill.

By the time we could get a bill through Congress to repeal the ban, it will be expired anyway. Any repeal will be filibustered in the Senate. It is easier and more effective to just wait a year and let it expire.
