Apparently he does not understand the role NRA members had in getting him elected.
I have been a supporter of him, but if Congress passes an extension, and he signs it, well...he can try and find others to support him.
This is a BIG issue for a lot of us, and if he abandons us on it, he can count us out.

Maybe the rumor about GWB being a moron is true.
This is a good way to lose tough states like Michigan, Ohio, Penn, New Hampshire, Tennesee, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Florida, Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico.
It's time to Freep Bush into backing down on this. Any extension of the gun grab will be unacceptable and will be treated accordingly.

If the ban is extended, then my block of five votes will support a 3rd Party...

And the GOP yanks the football away from conservative Charlie Brown yet again...
The only thing surprising, is that people are surprised.

Bush Supports New Extension Of Assault-Weapons Ban
I will not support any candidate who takes this stand.
Period.

Cutting off your collective noses, because W says he'll sign it, isn't the way to go. He has to say that, much like he chokes on that "Islam Is A Religion of Peace" crap, which takes the gun control issue off the table for the lib-dem scum.
I read that Tom DeLay is going to kill the AWB in the house committee, that there aren't enough votes for it, or something like that. I pray that it's true, and that the evil AWB will never reach W's desk.
If that wouldn't happen, and he does sign it, I'll still vote for him, as the alternatives are too terrible to ponder. Brrrrrrrrr!

"The NRA said they would be working out of the Oval Office when Bush was elected. This creates an interesting situation for them," he said."
One idiot employee made that statement at an NRA function prior to the elections of 2000. That was never an official statement by the NRA.
To: Unwavering Conservative
this will be debated again soon.
