I AM an NRA member. They are useful idiots that provide some benefits. They are certainly not enemies to the cause.
But they have a track record of selling our rights up the river, and helping some anti-rights candidates just becaus ethey are "R"s.
They should learn that you occasionally have to "shoot" one of your own that gets out of line, to keep the rest in line.

Did you just get the card so you could carry it in your wallet or do you actually take the time to make sure your reps are doing what you want? Did you vote in the annual elections?
Do you take the time out of your busy schedule to make sure the organization works the way you want it to?

The NRA is controled by the same type of functional idiots that control the GOP. They have no constitutional principles, only the agenda of political power.
