WP: "The president supports the current law, and he supports reauthorization of the current law," White House spokesman Scott McClellan told Knight Ridder.

alwaysconservative:This article is a hack job intended to undermine the President's popularity with his own party. "They" can't undermine him with the general public, so they try to turn his own supporters against him. How sleazy (and unfortunately, judging from these posts, effective)!

I've seen plenty of liberal media hack jobs but I must ask how this article is a hack job? This article contains a direct quote from WH spokeman Scott McClellan.

White House spokesman Scott McClellan? NOT Ari Fleischer for something this big? When? Before or AFTER the President authorized Ted Olson to file those two pro-second-amendment briefs? Why now? Why would he be "stupid" enough to spend his political capital on this NOW, when our use of military force brought him such gains? It just doesn't add up, in my opinion. This is the President who pulled us OUT of Kyoto, out of the ICC, and has maintained the course on tax cuts. The left DESPISES him, and will stop at nothing to discredit him even with his own followers. . .
