One resorts to "Hollywood Physics." One person fires a Forty Four Magnum, The Most Powerful Handgun In The World at the hapless target. The target is blown off his feet and flies backwards throught the Reinforced Plate Glass Window on the Eighty Fifth Floor Of The Skyscraper. The shooter doesn't do more than have his hand kicked up a bit.
"Bullitt" was an early example of Hollywood Physics.
Other examples are automobiles that go off a cliff and become so freightened that they burst into flame before even hitting the ground.

Oh dear! Now, I'm totally disappointed! ROTFL...
(Medical Gore Warning--- do not read further in my post if you are squeemish about medical stuff!)
I had an medical school professor point this out. Hollywood medicine is another great one. The star gets shot in the left shoulder/chest and then limply lifts his right hand to kill the bad guy.
The reality is that if you get hit with a round in the upper left chest, you're dead. The round would rip through not only the lung, but also your most vital arteries. You'd bleed to death before you could "say your prayers".
This is why you don't often see GSW's in the ER's who have left shoulder/chest wounds. They're already Coroner's cases and never make it to the ER.
