WHO has changed their reporting format. They now break it down by deaths and recoveries. The April 11 worldwide figures are 2890 cases, 116 deaths, 1373 recoveries. Going by deaths/cases, we get 4%.
But going by "final resolution" (did he recover or did he die), we get 116 / (116 + 1373) = closer to 8% death rate.
Excluding Communist bloc countries, and their suspect reporting, the numbers start looking uglier. In Canada, we have 10 deaths and 25 recoveries, Singapore 9 deaths 77 recoveries, Thailand 2 deaths 5 recoveries. If this breaks out into a global pandemic, we're looking at Black Death casualty figures
